Just after the first of this year, Buxom released a collection of Big and Healthy Lip Creams ($18). They’re similar to their line of Big and Healthy Lip Polish except that these do not have any shimmer or sparkle. You just get a creamy lip gloss with a hint of minty goodness.
Why mint? Just like with the Buxom Lip Polish, these lip creams are lip plumpers. Hence the mint flavor which gives them a tingly sensation too. But not to worry, Buxom lip polishes and lip creams are not painful at all. They just give your lips a bit of a tingle and a cooling sensation. Plus they smell really good too, yummy vanilla.
I’m already a huge fan of the Buxom Lip Polish line because they give off incredible shine with really pretty colors. So when these lip creams came out, I could not wait to try them. There are seven shades of the Buxom Lip Creams available and I believe they are named after drinks.
- Creamsicle – peach sorbet
- Berry Blast – vivid fuchsia
- Cherry Flip – red poppy
- Mudslide – petal pink
- Pink Lady – electric pink
- Berry Blast – ripe grape
- White Russian – nude pink
I really wanted the Creamsicle color for Spring but it was out of stock for a while and I didn’t want to wait any longer. So instead, I purchased the color Mudslide.
The description of petal pink is a little off for this color I think. I didn’t expect it to a bright pink but I didn’t think it would be so dark either. To me it’s more of a cross between mauve and berry. It’s still very pretty though and so pigmented. You definitely don’t need to layer this gloss over a lipstick. It holds it’s own color wise and is so shiny. Love it!
