New for Spring of 2012, Tarte released 4 new shades of their 12 hour Amazonian Clay Blush ($25). The new colors are Frisky, Adored, Glisten and Buff. I recently added Frisky to my collection.
If you’ve never tried Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blush, I highly recommend them. They are always nicely pigmented and long wearing. Maybe not for the full 12 hours as they claim, but definitely a full 6 – 8 hours of wear. After that, you may notice a bit of fading.
The magic ingredient in the Amazonian Clay Blushes are of course, Amazonian Clay! Why would you want clay in your makeup? Tarte says it “neutralizes complexions, balances skin and wears better.” Most importantly for me is that it helps mattify the skin by removing excess oils which gives it better staying power.
Frisky is definitely one of the bolder colors available in the whole Tarte blush collection. If you’re like me, you’ll be drawn to this one by the bright raspberry red colored compact. And when you open this bugger you’re bound to say “wow”.
Frisky blush is a beautiful reddish peach color with tiny golden sparkles. Don’t be too worried about the sparkles though. They blend really well and aren’t too glittery when worn.
The best part about the Tarte Frisky blush is that the color is so versatile. When worn with a heavy hand, you can achieve a nice amount of flushed reddish color on your cheeks. But you can also wear this very lightly as a softer pale pink shade. I swatched this between the two ends of the spectrum. Not too heavy but not too light.
So what do you think of Tarte’s Frisky? Too bold or just right for you?

I think this blush is gorgeous! I definitely plan to get it one of these days. I like bold, bright blushes because my skin tone is more tan or medium.
