Sea Siren is one of three limited edition Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows ($24). All three colors have a duo chrome and pearlescent glitter finish. Sea Siren is a lavender pink base color with blue shimmer.
If you love the other Stila Magnificent Metals liquid eye shadows for their opacity and color payoff, you probably won’t like these limited edition colors. Sea Siren is very sheer and gives less of a glitter pop to your eyes than the initial colors from the collection.
Don’t get me wrong, this one is still very pretty and unique. I’ve found that you’ll get the best pop of color when you use Sea Siren as a topper instead of a stand alone eyeshadow.
To get more coverage you can build up a few layers, when wearing it alone. However, I’ve had problems with it looking patchy and uneven. Compared to the others, this one is just harder to work with.
The glitter is more subtle in this one and pretty much just adds a shift of blue color at certain angles. It really does have more of a pearlescent, almost frosty, finish.
As with Smoldering Satin and Rose Gold Retro, this one also has great staying power on my oily eyelids. It stays put all day and does not crease at all.
Even with the impressive wear qualities, I’m always impressed at just how easily these remove. A simple makeup wipe does the trick so there’s no need for excessive scrubbing and rubbing makeup remover over and over.
I’ve seen many people complain about these and say that all three colors had the same issues. It’s probably a good thing that these stay limited edition as they were a big disappointment compared to the ones in the permanent line.
