Maybelline The Nudes Palette ($10.99) contains 12 eyeshadow shades in matte, satin and shimmer finishes. They’ve arranged the colors in the palette so that you could combine them in three different ways; duos, trios and quads. This makes it super easy to put together any look without needing to think too hard about it.
This palette has both winners and duds in it in my opinion. The darker shimmer shades (4th from the left, top and bottom) are the ones that really perform the best for me. They are extremely pigmented and smooth as well. The gold shimmer shade is a little light on pigmentation and does have a little bit of fallout.
The worst one of the bunch has to be the white shimmer. It barely has any pigmentation at all and is almost iridescent. It’s not really a color that I would ever use.
As for all the remaining satin and matte shades, they are all a little light on pigmentation when swatched. That doesn’t mean they are bad eyeshadows though. When applied to the eyelids they actually work just fine for me.
I do find that the matte shades can be a little patchy at times though. You may have to do a little extra blending to get that smoothed out, especially with the black.
I don’t find that this is a must have eyeshadow palette but it still is nice. I think the shades are all very workable as far as pigmentation goes. If you’re expecting to be wowed, it may not happen for you with this one initially. But when worn over primer, they’ll work just fine for your average everyday look.
