Another month down so it’s time for a new round of favorites. I came down with bronchitis in April so I wasn’t feeling my best for a good part of the month. Therefore my list of favorites is a bit small this month. Even though I didn’t use many products in April a few became trusty go-to staples.
Let’s start with my L’Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation. When I first tried and reviewed this foundation I wasn’t really thrilled with it. I felt it was much too sheer and didn’t wear well on my oily skin. I tossed it in my foundation drawer and didn’t look back.
Now that Spring is coming I felt that my matte foundations needed a bit of life added to them. So I decided to dig out my Lumi foundation and add a few drops to my favorite Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. I actually love the way it adds just a touch of a glow to such a matte finish foundation.
Towards the middle of April I discovered my newest favorite foundation, the ELF Acne Fighting Foundation. It’s also a full coverage foundation but not as matte as the Rimmel. I finished out the month using this one daily with a pump of L’Oreal Lumi mixed in.
I typically always use my Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten baked foundation as my finishing powder. This month I’ve switched to my Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation lightly dusted over my liquid foundation. It has a nice silky texture with a pretty luminous finish.
When I’m feeling under the weather I want quick and easy. My go to eyeshadow in April was a quick layer of Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadow in Bad To The Bronze. It’s super pigmented and looks good all on its own. I love the bronze brown shimmer with my blue eyes!
I also rediscovered a love for the Benefit They’re Real Mascara. I had a sample I somehow got when it first came out over a year ago. I used it for a bit and then it go lost in my overflowing drawer of mascaras.
I came across it mid-April and have been using it daily ever since. It gives my lashes so much volume plus some added length. Once I finally use this sample up I’m going to have to purchase a full sized tube finally!
Something I’ve always wondered is why do lips get so dry and cracked when we’re sick? I soothed my dry lips all month with my Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It’s a clear lip balm that makes my lips feel soft and smooth.
Lastly I’m sharing my newest favorite beauty tool that I don’t know why I’ve lived without for so long. I bought a pair of Sally Hansen eyebrow shaping scissors well over a month ago and have been obsessed with them. The curved blade makes trimming and shaping my brows so much easier. If you don’t already have a pair I highly suggest you get some.
Well that about does it for my April favorites. I’m well on my way to recovery from my bronchitis so I’ll have lots more to share for May. What were you loving last month?
