For those of you who long for an all matte palette, I’ve finally got one for you! Tarte just released a limited edition eyeshadow, blush and eyeliner palette. The Be MATTEnificent Amazonian Colored Clay Collector’s Palette ($36) includes 8 eyeshadows, 1 blush and a double ended mini brush.
As the name suggests, this whole palette is matte. As I get closer and closer to the big 4-0, I’m finding more and more value in matte shadows. I already own and love the Urban Decay Naked Basics matte eyeshadow palette and was hoping the colors were not the same in both.
At first glance some of the shadows do look similar but they’re actually different shades. All of the colors in this palette are nicely pigmented. The lighter shades are a bit chalky in texture but they end up blending out perfectly.
I absolutely love the new packaging designs Tarte is using this season. It looks like a colorful geode slice on the top. I have some other products I’m testing that came in an upcoming QVC TSV (Feb. 4) set that have similar designs on them and I think they are beautiful! More on that set to come!
The brush that came with this palette is small and will work in a pinch. One end is a flat shader brush and the other end is a rounded blending brush. Tarte brushes are always great quality and so soft!
This palette is a must have for anyone that loves matte shadows. And even if you do not love all matte looks, these colors will work fabulously with shimmer shades for blending, browbone highlighting and in your crease.
I really enjoy the blush shade too. It’s a very natural looking pink color that has a bit of a rose tint. I expected it to be super light when I first used it and applied way too much. It has more pigmentation than I was expecting so that’s awesome.
What do you think about the Tarte Be MATTEnificent eye and cheek collector’s palette? Will you be picking it up?
Available online at Sephora and Ulta.
