Every year I put together a guide featuring all of the Halloween haunted houses and attractions in and around the Pittsburgh area. If you’re looking for a frighteningly good time in Western PA this fall, look no further!
For 2017, I’ve located 25+ haunted house attractions. Opening dates are listed for each, as well as ticket prices.
Be sure to check out the attraction’s website for more information, times and prices before heading out. The majority of these haunted houses sell tickets online as well as in person.
The ticket prices I’ve included are the adult prices cause let’s be honest, most of these places are not suitable for small children, lol. Have a scary good time!
Scarehouse – Opens September 15, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Ticket prices range from $15.99 online to $19 at the door. Group prices available for 15 or more people. Located in Etna, PA.
ScareHouse has been ranked as one of “America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” by Travel Channel and has been featured on Good Morning America, USA TODAY, CBS news, ABC News, Buzzfeed, Forbes, Geek & Sundry, and many other national media outlets. And Elijah Wood, star of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, raved about ScareHouse on the Seth Meyers show!
Fright Farm – This is a destination spot featuring 4 haunted attractions, food, and entertainment. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 31st. Ticket prices start at $25. Located in Smithfield, PA.
Hundred Acres Manor – 6 haunted attractions in one place. One of Pittsburgh’s largest and most extreme haunted attractions spanning over 1 mile and ranked as one of the top in the world. Opens September 8, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Located in Bethel Park, PA. Tickets start at $20.
Hundred Acres Manor has been featured on The Travel Channel, LA Times, USA Today, named one of the “Best Haunted Houses in the U.S.” by Forbes.com and recently named “Pittsburgh’s Best Haunted House” by HauntWorld.com.
Demon House – A 139+ year old stone mansion is the unique setting for the Demon House. Open September 2, 2017 through November 5th. Located in Monongahela, PA.
Castle Blood – Located in a historic 100-year-old funeral home and featuring a theatrical, interactive storyline. American Airlines Magazine described a visit to Castle Blood as “playing Clue in the Addams Family house.” Opens October 6, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Admission starts at $20. Located in Monessen, PA.
Haunted Hills Estate – This haunted adventure takes place on a 100 acre farm and features 3 haunted attractions. Opens September 15, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Tickets start at $15, group rates available. Located in Uniontown, PA
Phantom Fright Nights – Every weekend Kennywood Park takes on a frightfully terrifying theme. Prices start at $29.99. Starts September 29, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Located in West Mifflin, PA.
Huston’s Haunted Hollow – Five haunted attractions this year that include a house, barn, hayride and cornfield. Voted as a Top Haunt for 2016. Opens September 29, 2017 and runs through October 28th. Tickets start at $20. Located in Rockwood, PA.
Haunted Hillside – This haunted trail walk will give you nightmares! Entirely outdoors with 5 attractions connected to one another. It starts and ends with a hayride, but there is a mile long hike through the supernatural in between. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 28th. Tickets are $17 online and $20 at the gate. Group rates available. Located in Mount Pleasant, PA.
West Deer Nightmare – A “highly intense, terrifying Haunted House that depicts the history of serial killer Noah Hobbs and the 1952 West Deer Nightmare Massacre”. Opens October 6, 2017 and runs until October 29th. Tickets start at $10. Located in Bairdford Park in West Deer Township.
Lonesome Valley Farms Valley of Terror – Two haunted attractions including a haunted hayride with maze trail and the Slotter farmhouse and barn. Also features a non-haunted corn maze. Opens September 29, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Tickets are $23. Located in Greensburg, PA.
Allen’s Haunted Hayrides and Tavern of Terror – A 1 mile hayride that travels through haunted woods, barn and field. Follow up with a 3500 square foot haunted walk through the Tavern of Terror. Opens September 29, 2017 and runs through October 31st. Located in Smock, PA.
Hotel Beacon Corn Maze and Haunted House – 15+ acre haunted corn maze, tractor ride and haunted house. Starts September 29, 2017 and runs through October 28th. Tickets are $15. Located in Renfrew, PA.
Hell’s Hollow Haunt – This attraction starts with 3 levels of scares in the Bloody Barn followed up with a 25 minute haunted haywagon ride. At the end you take a haunted corn maze. Start October 6, 2017 and runs through October 28th. Tickets are $20. Group rates available. Located in Mercer, PA.
Eerie Acres Farm – This year they will be revealing their newly built haunted house to the public. Starts September 22, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Tickets are $15. Located in Butler, PA.
Ravenwood Manor Haunted House – An 1860 Victorian mansion is the location of this 27 room, 3 1/2 story haunted house. Starts October 5, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Tickets are $13. Located in Beccaria, PA.
Cheeseman Fright Farm – Featuring over 100 actors with a haunted hayride, corn maze and multiple walk through attractions. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Prices start at $20. Located in Portersville, PA.
Hobgoblin Hike at Northmoreland Park – A ½ mile outdoor Halloween walk in the haunted woods on October 21, 2017 from 7pm – 9pm ET. Admission is free. Located in Apollo.
Hobgoblin Hike at Mammoth Park – A ½ mile outdoor Halloween walk in the haunted woods on October 28, 2017 from 7pm – 9pm ET. Admission is free. Located in Mt Pleasant.
Outside of Western Pennsylvania but worthy of a mention:
Field of Screams – Named “Best Extreme Haunted Attraction by USA TODAY. Includes 4 intense attractions and an entertainment area. Opens September 15, 2017 and runs through November 5th. Tickets start at $16. Located in Lancaster, PA.
Jason’s Woods – Five haunted attractions featuring integrated motion technology. Starts September 22, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Tickets start at $25. Group rates available. Located in Lancaster, PA.
Reaper’s Revenge – Brave a haunted hayride, a dark forest, a pitch-black maze, and a zombie apocalypse at this 60 acre “scream” park featuring four terrifying haunted attractions and more than 90 minutes of scare time. Starts September 22, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Tickets are $45. Group rates available. Located in Scranton, PA.
Deviant – This terrifying experience takes place in the old Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. It’s been closed for years but has a reputation for hauntings, voices and other paranormal activity. Opens September 29, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Tickets are $25. Located in Weston, WV.
Dungeon Of Horrors (WV Penitentiary) – If being in the former West Virginia Penitentiary doesn’t already creep you out, the actors will help get you to that point. Over 10,000 people visit each year! Will take 45 minutes to go through. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 31st. Tickets start at $20. No children under 12. Located in Moundsville, WV.
North Walk (WV Penitentiary) – Take a flashlight tour through the oldest part of the former West Virginia Penitentiary. Know as the area with the most paranomal activity, where murder, violence and brutality happened daily. It housed the most dangerous inmates in maximum security.
No actors on this 45 minute tour. You’ll walk with a guide and listen to tales from the past. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 31st. Tickets start at $15. Located in Moundsville, WV.
7 Floors of Hell – Experience 7 different themed haunted attractions in one single location! Seven Floors of Hell is part of America Haunts, which is a group of the top-rated haunted attractions in the USA. They’ve been featured on the NBC Today Show, Travel Channel, CNN, Forbes magazine and Fangoria magazine. Opens September 22, 2017 and runs through October 29th. Tickets start at $25. Group rates available. Located in Cleveland, OH.
Factory of Terror – Five full attractions are located in an abandoned 150,000 square foot aluminum foundry. Factory of Terror has won the Guinness World Record three times for the longest indoor haunted attraction in the world. Starts September 23, 2017 and runs through November 4th. Tickets start at $25. Group rates available. Located in Canton, Ohio.
