A few weeks ago I was browsing through the NYX Cosmetics website and noticed a few newer shades of their popular Powder Blush ($5). I counted nine shades that I’d never heard of or seen before.
I love the formula of these blushers so I picked up these 5 shades:
- Amber – deep reddish matte mauve
- Apricot – peachy pink with golden shimmer
- Bittersweet – deep brownish plum with golden shimmer
- Coral Dream – matte coral pink
- Ethereal – bright pink with golden shimmer
As expected, these colors are beautiful! All 5 of them are super pigmented and silky smooth. Both Apricot and Ethereal were a little on the powdery side so be sure to tap off your brush before you apply them.
Even though Apricot, Bittersweet and Ethereal all have glitter in them, it’s not noticeable on the skin at all. The glitter is very fine and it just basically disappears.
I was a bit scared by Bittersweet when I first saw it in person. But don’t be. It looks chocolate brown in the pan but is actually a really flattering mauve/plum shade with just a hint of brown. I actually like it way more than I expected to.
I’m so glad I added these 5 new shades to my NYX powder blush collection. I can easily say that there was not a single dud in the bunch. I love all of them but Ethereal is my absolute fave. It gives my cheeks a nice touch of pink color with a beautiful golden glow.
What do you think of these new shades?

Bittersweet totally does look too brown in the pan, but it looks great in your swatch- might just be my favourite of the bunch. Might have to make and NYX order… 😀

Yeah I was really scared when it came. I thought “there’s no way I’m gonna like this”. But I swatched it and fell in love! So unexpected!

Bittersweet looks stunning! I am quite fair, so I would have to use a light hand, but I think it would pair beautifully with a dark lip in the fall/winter time!! Thanks!

I have fair to light skin and use it with a light hand. It works very well when worn light or it can be built up for more of a Fall/Winter look.
