The Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette ($49) is the follow-up to the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Just like the original, it also contains 16 eyeshadows in both shimmer and matte finishes.
I hesitated to purchase this second version because several online reviews claimed it wasn’t nearly as good as the first. I’ve been using this for well over a month now and can say that’s just not true.
I think I might actually prefer this one over the first Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I like that there are so many matte crease/transition shades to choose from. All of the colors seem to pair better together, in the Semi-Sweet, for my personal preferences.
I enjoy every color in this palette with the exception of two that are a bit disappointing. Firstly, that Blueberry Swirl. It looks beautiful in the palette and actually swatches very well. But when you apply it to the eyes, the pigmentation is barely there.
It takes building up several layers to get any blue color to show up. And when you do, it looks like more of a dusty gray-blue on my eyelids. Basically it’s useable but will take extra efforts to get good color payoff.
The biggest bummer in this Semi-Sweet palette is Pink Sugar. It’s a waste of space in this gorgeous eyeshadow palette. It has zero pigmentation and is basically a bunch of sparkle. Any other color would have been better than this one.

Final Verdict
I’m in love with this palette. The colors are beautiful and very pigmented with exception to the two mentioned above. Oh, and it has the most delicious sweet chocolate scent since the eyeshadows are made with cocoa powder.
Available online at Too Faced, Sephora and Ulta.
