I’ve found the absolute blackest black gel eyeliner ever! It’s the new Tarte Egyptian Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner ($22) available exclusively from QVC. It comes with a double ended liner brush with one end straight and one end bent. The brush is nice and soft and works really well.
If you like super black eyeliner, then this is for you. It is super duper pigmented! Not only is is jet black but it’s the softest gel eyeliner I’ve tried also. It goes on so dark and so smooth almost like paint. No tugging or pulling at all. Just one dip of the brush and you can do almost your whole eye with one swipe. It has a nice matte finish too which I like.
Since this Tarte eyeliner is waterproof, you need to work fast. It will set after a few minutes so make sure you get it where you want it before it dries. Once dried, it stays on fairly well. I have very oily eyelids so I did experience some smearing at the outer corners of my eyes. But everywhere else, it remained smudge-proof until I removed it at the end of the night. But you will need a good makeup remover for it though.
As far as the waterline, it performs as one of the best eyeliners I’ve tried. Usually eyeliner on my waterline disappears within 2 hours of applying it. This Tarte kohl eyeliner remained on my waterline for at least 6 hours. It also works really well for tightlining my upper inner lids too. The bent end of the liner brush fits nicely under the upper rim while the liner just glides on.
All in all, I’d recommend this Tarte Egyptian Kohl Eyeliner to anyone looking for a highly pigmented black gel eyeliner. But beware, this will give your eyes a dramatic, bold liner look that may be too harsh for the faint-hearted. Plus the price is great too when you consider you’re getting a full sized brush as well.
So what do you think of this new Tarte kohl eyeliner? Is this something you would try or is it too dark for you?

Wow–that really IS super dark! I like it though–that’s awesome! And the brush I’m sure will be a huge hit. It reminds me of the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner that everyone is obsessed about. I like mine, but a double ended brush would be better 🙂

The bent end does come in handy. I find myself using that end way more than the straight end.

It’s the blackest I’ve ever seen I guess. And it looks matte rather than creamy!
It’s hard to find that in the market.
seems like it’s perfect for a retro-classy look!

It does dry matte but in the jar and when you apply it, it’s very soft and creamy to work with. It would work well for a retro dramatic winged look.
