It seems like lately everyone is coming out with their own version of chubby lip crayons. And now we can add these NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Colors ($3.99) to the list.
I have to say that not all brands of these lip crayons are the greatest. I’ve tried so many by now and have had great luck with some and others not so much. Some can be very stiff and drying on the lips. Not these!
This collection consists of about a dozen shades and I chose two to try out. I picked up Riverside Rose and Gramercy Park Plum. Riverside Rose is a very natural pink with a hint of mauve while Gramercy Park Plum is a deep plummy red color.
I am super impressed with how pigmented these two shades are! They have a nice soft texture that glides easily onto the lips and leaves behind some amazing color.
They have a nice glossy finish and feel light on my lips. I love that these do not feel dry on the lips and do not dry out my lips throughout the day.
Naturally these are going to transfer and wear off like an average lippie when you eat or drink. The darker plum shade does stain my lips a bit though while the lighter rose one does not. I imagine that will be true for any of the darker shades within the line.
I highly recommend these lip crayons! They closely resemble the high end versions by Tarte but only cost a fraction of what those ones retail for. What do you think about these NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Colors?
Oh man! I really need these. I’m a huge fan of lip crayons in general because of the ease of use they provide but these are some of the more affordable ones. Haven’t seen these near me yet but I’ll have to keep my eyes open .Thanks for posting!

Didn’t think I’d like Riverside Rose in the tube , but it looks like a great nude on the lips .
Gramercy Park Plum intrigues me the most though since I love vampy colors like that .
