One of the most interesting new products out for Spring 2012 are the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush ($7.99). What’s interesting is the texture of this blush. Dream Bouncy blush sits in it’s package like a little colorful pillow. And when you touch it, it’s spongy and leaves an indent if you press down firmly. It feels almost like a marshmallow or a really fresh circus peanut candy. Weird stuff.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush comes in 10 colors. I purchased 4 of them; Pink Frosting, Hot Tamale, Plum Wine and Candy Coral. Maybelline calls them a “gel formula” but they seem more like a cream texture when applied. Once they quickly dry, they seem to have a more powdery finish with a bit of shimmer.
If you’re looking for heavily pigmented blush, this may not be for you. Dream Bouncy blush gives you more of a light sheer coverage. It is buildable, like my swatches show, but it will take several applications to get more pigmented color. I however do not like heavy blush so these work well for me. I like just a nice kiss of color on my cheeks and the Bouncy blush does just that.
If you want more pigmented color, I’d definitely pick one of the darker Dream Bouncy shades. The lighter colors will not give you enough color payoff, especially for someone with a darker skin tone. I think the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush is easier to apply with my index and middle finger. Because of their texture, you’ll have a hard time getting enough on a brush.
Final Thoughts:
I like the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush. They last pretty much all day for me and there’s so many pretty colors to choose from. And with my light skin tone, I think the amount of color they give off is just right for me.
Have you tried the Dream Bouncy blush yet? Is you have, what do you think of them?

The texture sounds luscious and the colors are intense which is what I prefer in a blush. I will have to give these a try!

They’re worth a look at indeed. I’ve been wearing Hot Tamale all week and I love it!

Hot Tamale looks awesome!

It is! I really love it. I’ve been mainly using that color all month. When used with a light hand, it comes out as a soft medium pink color. So pretty!
