So many amazing new drugstore foundations have been cropping up all over the place lately. My newest obsession is the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation ($12.99). With 15 shades to choose from you’re bound to find your perfect match. The shades are divided into 3 categories; warms, neutrals and cools. My shade is neutral N1-2 soft ivory/classic ivory.
True Match Lumi gives your skin light to medium coverage. It goes on flawlessly with my beauty blender and can be built up on areas where you need a bit more coverage. Small imperfections will still show through but it covers redness really well. It feels nice and light on the skin which is nice for summer.
Don’t be afraid of the luminous aspect of this foundation. Actually it gives skin a subtle glow without looking greasy or extremely shiny. And if you want to tone that down a bit, just add a bit of matte powder on top.
Weather here has been very hot and humid lately but this foundation wears pretty well. Despite my oily skin and the almost 100° heat, I can get about 8 hours of wear before it starts to really break down around my t-zone area.
The claim to this foundation is that it is “infused with three powerful ingredients that improve skin’s complexion the more you wear them. 40% pure water for all day hydration. Antioxidants and Vitamin C and E for improved clarity and skin tone.”
I’ve been wearing this foundation for about two weeks now and I haven’t really noticed anything different with my skin. But then again, I wasn’t expecting to anyway. I bought the foundation for the purpose of just foundation. To me any added benefits, if they occur, are just a bonus. So even though it may not do what they claim for me, I still love it. It’s quickly become one of my favorite foundations.
