Limited edition L’Oreal Colour Riche Le Matte and La Laque skinny, pencil type lip colors. Each of the two formulas is only available in 4 different shades. And yes, both have that same old L’Oreal scent to them that so many dislike.
I picked up two shades to try, one in each formula. I purchased Never Lacque-ing from the La Laque line which is a mauve pink shade. And No Matte-r What is a nice caramel nude from the Le Matte line.
No surprise here, Le Matte lip colors are a matte formula. I expected this one to be the drier of the two during application. Surprisingly, it’s just the opposite.
Le Matte applies so nice and smooth and dries down to a semi-matte finish for me. It feels very nice on the lips and is not drying at all.
La Laque is the glossier version of the two. Sadly this one is very stiff and does not go on the lips quite as smoothly. It seems drier to me and drags across the lips. It does have a glossier finish but feels drier on my lips than Le Matte does. Strange.
Both formulas are great on pigmentation. These two colors are opaque but can be worn with a light application or layered for deeper saturation.
I really enjoy the slim design of these lip colors. The pointy tip makes it easy to neatly line your lips and get easily into the corners. I also like that the slim packaging makes it a bit more mature than using a jumbo crayon when you’re in a public setting.
Have you found these in your local drugstore yet? Which formula would you buy?
