This summer I have totally ditched my regular foundations for the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream ($38). I did a review a while back and wasn’t really feeling it at that time. But I finally figured out that it was how I was applying it that was causing my lack of excitement.
Previously I was applying this CC cream with a damp BeautyBlender sponge. That method wasn’t giving me enough coverage and was applying it very unevenly.
Now I quickly apply it to my face with a brush. I then use a dry makeup sponge to gently even it out. This method gets me light coverage that can be built up to light/medium coverage.
I love the finish it gives my skin. It’s not quite dewy but not matte either. It gives your skin a nice natural, healthy glow.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how well this has been wearing on my oily skin thru this ultra warm summer. The heat and humidity have been brutal here this year.
I have been opting for as little products on my skin as possible so I’ve been skipping primer. Surprisingly, this cc cream has been staying put pretty much all day.
My nose still gets a little shiny and the cc cream does disappear from the tip of my nose after 8+ hours of wear. But overall, not bad for this extreme hot weather.
Oh, and I love that it contains broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen. Perfect for summer days!
Available online at It Cosmetics and Ulta.
