The Covergirl Colorlicious Lipsticks ($6.99) is a new line full of a huge range of colors. You’ll notice in the stores that the 36 colors are divided into either Nudes, Pinks, Plums or Reds.
I picked up two from the Nude category, Tempting Toffee and Romance Mauve. The colors are pretty hard to choose since you can only go by the color on the bottom of the tubes.
I had no idea that there were different finishes in the line since it doesn’t say that anywhere on the tubes. As you can imagine, I was very disappointed to see that the Romance Mauve color had some shimmer in it.
Unfortunately it is so shimmery that it gives my lips a frosted finish which I do not like at all. Frosted lipsticks always accentuate any lines or dryness in the lips and this one is no different.
Tempting Toffee luckily has a cream finish with a touch of shine. Both colors have a pretty soft and creamy formula with a pretty good amount of pigmentation.
For some reason I have never been a fan of Covergirl lipsticks. They always seem to be so slippery and just slide right off the lips quickly. This Colorlicious line seems pretty much the same.
The color payoff is ok but nothing special. And they last a matter of minutes on the lips. Overall I continue to be unimpressed by the Covergirl lipstick lines.
Have you tried any of these new Colorlicious lipsticks? What do you think of the line?
