It’s time for another Birchbox and I’m sad to say that I’m officially pulling the plug. This in fact will be my last Birchbox post. I haven’t been thrilled with the samples over the last few months so I’m making the decision to cancel.
I’ve lost the excitement that I used to have when I’d see the pink box in my mailbox. And If I’m not excited enough about it anymore, it’s not worth me paying for unwanted samples that most often go unused.
So let’s take a look at what’s in my final February 2013 Birchbox:
Kerastase Chroma Riche Hair Masque – Two packets of this hydrating and nourishing hair masque for highlighted or color treated hair.
Vasanti Brighten Up Face Rejuvenator – Two tubes of this exfoliating cleanser with microderm crystals and papaya enzymes to brighten the skin.
Color Club Mini Nail Polish in Mamba – A nice cherry red cream colored nail polish. Will definitely get lots of use from this!
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint – This was super disappointing because I received this sample exactly one year ago in my February 2012 Birchbox and did not like it. The one I got last year was luminizing and this one is matte. The tube is so tiny to boot!
Ghirardelli Square Milk Chocolate with Caramel – I love these! Wish there was more than one, it was gone shortly after I took the pic!
If you’re a Birchbox subscriber I’d love to hear how you think your boxes have been lately. Are you still excited to get your Birchbox in the mail?
For a while, I felt like you. The samples were just becoming sub-par. All I got was skin and hair care, which was alright, but I wanted makeup and nail polish. But this month, I fell back in love. I received Color Club Wild Cactus polish, Lancome Le Base Pro makeup primer, Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft, and the Vasanti scrub, all of which I love! I’m sorry that the box has been so disappointing for you! I wish Birchbox allowed us to choose a few products in our boxes every so often; I think that would definitely make them better.

Hi Christina. I probably would have stuck with it if my box was like yours. But I just couldn’t keep paying for something that I wasn’t completely happy with.

That’s weird. I wondered if me getting two was a mistake. Maybe they accidentally put two in mine. I did already cancel mine but hopefully next month will be better for you.
I got the same box and like Gail H got 1 Brighten Up. I think they put a second in yours to keep you around. I don’t mind this for $10 but if they raised the price I’d be gone.

i agree. i do still get excited…but the samples are not as fun. there are less… bummed 🙁
