It’s Birchbox time! Yippee! I always get so excited to rip into my box and see what good stuff came this month.
Here’s what I got:
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel
June Jacobs Papaya Purifying Enzyme Mask
The Cool Fix by Shaveworks
Bonus: Twistband hair tie
Personally I thought this month’s Birchbox was much better than last month. I’m already a huge fan of the Smashbox primer so now I’ve got an extra tube in backstock for when my larger tube runs out. As for the other products, I’m excited to try them out.
I have naturally curly hair that always has to be tamed with frizz products. Since it’s been so hot and humid here lately, I can’t wait to test out the Ouidad gel. I don’t usually like the feel of gel in my hair but the Birchbox card says it’s non-sticky, so we shall see.
The June Jacobs papaya masque smells amazing and I’m happy to see that it’s paraben free. Although, the retail price is $62 so I highly doubt I’d buy the full size one unless it works absolute magic on my skin.
As for the last two items, I’m a little blah about them. The Cool Fix gel lotion is used to treat ingrown hairs, redness and razor bumps from shaving and waxing. I don’t normally have a huge problem in that area but I will try it the next time I wax.
And the bonus hair tie is a little bizarre. It just looks like a piece of elastic that anyone could buy at a craft store, cut into short pieces and tie a knot in it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still use it but it’s not anything special to crow about.
All in all, I’m still loving the Birchbox service! It’s still very much worth the $10 subscription price and I can’t wait to see what comes next month!
