Pastel shades are all the rage for Spring 2013. L’Oreal recently released their limited edition Versailles Romance Collection which included 6 new shades of their Colour Riche Lip Balms. The beautiful pastel colors sucked me in and I ended up buying two shades, Provence Romance and Laze In The Maze.
If you’ve ever tried any of the L’Oreal Balms before then you know they can be pretty shear on the lips. This goes for these two new shades also. They feel great on the lips though, they’re nice and light. You get a good amount of shine with these and they keep my lips soft and not dry feeling.

L’Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stains ($9.99) are a cross between a lip gloss and a lip stain. These are being compared to the very expensive YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains, only at a fraction of the cost. And unfortunately at a fraction of the quality, in my opinion. Needless to say, I did not like this at all!
The L’Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stains are available in a nice variety of 12 pretty shades. I chose the shade Rose On and On, a pretty light pink color with a slight shimmer. I love the packaging. The tube is a sleek gold plastic with a clear window so you can easily see the color you’re choosing. The top twists off to reveal your doe foot applicator.

I’ve been on a mission this past week or two to find the perfect drugstore mauve/rose colored lipstick for fall. I feel like a need something a little darker in my life other than light pinks. I’ve haven’t quite come across the right one yet though but I’m getting warmer. Today I tried out the L’Oreal Infallible lipstick ($7.97) in the shade Rambling Rose.
Rambling Rose looked perfect in the tube but on my lips it’s still a bit too pink. It’s a bit darker than the L’Oreal Rose Taffeta Caresse lipstick but not quite as rosy as I’m looking for. This was the first time trying out an Infallible lipstick and I’m a little so-so on this one. It’s a nice and light texture that feels silky smooth on my lips after application. It gives my lips a nice amount of coverage without being too thick and heavy.

A few weeks ago I showed you the Sunset Angora lipstick from the new L’Oreal Colour Riche Caresse ($10) line. Since I loved the formula so much, I decided to pick up another color. I chose Rose Taffeta this time for a little bit more color for fall.
Rose Taffeta is a light mauve/rose cream color. It has no shimmer or sparkle in it. This color gives my lips a nice medium pink color with a nice amount of shine. My favorite part about these lipsticks is the way they feel on my lips. They aren’t thick and heavy. They slide easily onto the lips with a nice light feel and texture. You don’t get incredibly opaque color from them but it’s noticeable enough.
