Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer ($28) is a bronze liquid highlighter. Liquid highlighters can be used anywhere on your face where you want to give your skin a soft glow. You can apply it directly to your face or mix it into your foundation before you use it.
The formula and texture of this illuminizer feels exactly like the Benefit liquid highlighters. However, I do prefer the packaging of this Josie Maran version because of the convenient pump top. But push only lightly because a ton comes out with a full pump. Way too much for one application in fact.
Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer sheers out nicely on the skin with just your fingertips. It initially looks really wet and noticeable but don’t worry, it does dry down and blends seamlessly into your skin. You’ll only be able to see it when the light hits it.
The color itself is referred to as a bronze but to me it’s very golden. A little goes a very long way so use just a dab to start with. As you can see above, it’s a lot more golden when next to Benefit’s Watt’s Up highlighter which is more of a flesh-tone champagne color.
With Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer you get 1 fluid ounce in the bottle which is a great value for the price when compared to Benefit’s highlighters. Benefit High Beam, Moon Beam and Sun Beam all cost $26 each for only 0.45 fluid ounce. That means you’re getting more than double the product with Josie Maran’s for only $2 more!
