Valentine's Day Polka Dot Manicure

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day so I chose to do a quick polka dot manicure for the holiday.  I started with two coats of a shimmery white base, Revlon’s Aloof.  After that dried, I started with the dots using a dotting tool set I bought on Ebay for just a few bucks.

For the dots, I used three more colors.  I first started with red polka dots using Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant in Ever Reddy.  Then I followed that up with a medium pink , Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in Twisted Pink.  Lastly I wanted a soft pink shade so I used Nicole by OPI in Paparazzi Don’t Preach.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation

I’m loving this new foundation!  Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation ($12.99) acts as your primer, concealer and foundation all in one easy step.  It comes in a range of 14 shades and contains broad spectrum SPF 20.

I have very oily skin so I’m always leery to try new foundations.  Most go back to the store so I’m sure to keep my receipts until I fully test them out.  The first day I wore this foundation, I applied it with my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki and wasn’t really thrilled with it.  For the following three days, I used my damp Beauty Blender sponge and instantly fell in love!

I’m so happy that this has a pump top on it which makes things so much easier and cleaner.  For the amount of coverage this foundation gives, it surprised me that is was so runny.  I  much prefer working with a thinner product than a thick one any day but I expected it to be thicker and heavier since it is an all in one product.  But don’t let that fool you.

covergirl olay concealer balm

This week I’ve been testing out the new Covergirl and Olay Concealer Balm ($9.99).  Available in 6 different shades, I chose to try out the second from the lightest shade, fair/light.  This concealer comes in the old school type packaging that looks just like a lipstick tube.  It winds up to reveal more product as you use it.

I actually like this type of packaging because it makes applying it a breeze.  You don’t need to worry about dipping your finger or brush into a tiny sized pot.  Just swipe on what you need and blend it out with your finger.  Makes it so convenient to travel with too, just toss it in your bag and go.

covergirl ever reddy nail polish

I’ve been seeing a lot of displays for the new Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish ($5.99) lately.  None of the colors really jumped out at me except for this red cream shade, Ever Reddy.  I don’t own a plain red cream color and thought this would be a good color to get so I could try out the line.

I really love the color!  I was able to get good solid coverage in two coats.  This Covergirl nail polish was very nice to work with and not too thick or goopy.  So far I’ve had Ever Reddy on my natural nails for three days now with very minor tip wear and no chips.
