Sometimes several days go by and my nail polish still looks about 75% good but I just don’t have time to change it. Or have you applied fresh nail polish only to have it chip on you the very next day? To stretch out a worn or slightly damaged manicure, I have one quick and easy tip.
Apply a crackle nail polish on top of your existing manicure! If you have tip wear, minor cracks or chips, the crackle polish covers it up and your manicure looks fresh and new!
This works great if you’ve got last minute plans and your polish looks not so fresh. Avoid any embarrassment by covering up those imperfections. I recommend following the crackle polish with a fresh clear coat also.

The picture above is my Zoya Kendal manicure that is 10 days old!! At day 6, my nail polish was looking dull and had tip wear and a few chips around the edges. I applied OPI Super Bass Shatter and a fast drying clear top coat and it looks like new!
Yes, you can notice around my cuticles that my nails have grown out, but from far away, no one will ever notice that. So now I’ve made it through the weekend to the point were I have some free time Sunday evening to change my polish.
You can also try this tip with a chunky glitter nail polish too. If the glitter is big enough, it should cover minor wear with a coat or two. Glitter nail polish is a lot more difficult to remove, so I prefer using the crackle polish approach instead.

Spring 2012 brings bright bold colors and neon shades right to the forefront. One thing I’m loving this Spring is the colorful fashion jewelry I’m seeing everywhere. You can find really great pieces just about anywhere for some really great prices.
Here are four of my favorite pieces so far.

Both pairs of earrings I bought for well under $20 each. The first pair is from Fashion Bug and the second pair came from TJ Maxx.

The orange necklace I bought at TJ Maxx also for under $30. And this multi-strand beaded necklace came from Fashion Bug for only $16! Fashion Bug frequently runs Buy One, Get One 50% off sales on their costume jewelry so with the necklace and earrings, I think I got them both for around $25.
So what do you think of the bright colored Spring jewelry? Have you purchased any fashionable pieces for yourself yet?

In last month’s January MyGlam bag I received the perfect pink nail polish for Valentine’s Day. The Balm’s I’ll Pink To That is a bright cream pink color with no sparkle or shimmer.
I added a bit of interest by putting two coats of the glitter nail polish Snow Globe by China Glaze on my ring fingers over the two coats of The Balm’s I’ll Pink To That nail polish.
Have a fabulous Valentine’s Day!!

My spring 2012 New Beauty test tube of samples from QVC is here! I’m on the auto delivery plan and this is my third test tube out of six total shipments. I previously posted what I got in my first New Beauty test tube and the fall New Beauty test tube.
I love these QVC New Beauty Test Tubes because they are a great value. You usually get a few full size products along with deluxe size samples. The samples in the test tubes are way bigger that the average samples you get with Birchbox.
At only $29.96 plus shipping you get 9 beauty and makeup products to try plus that month’s issue of the New Beauty magazine. That averages out to only $3.33 per item, not including the magazine!

Here’s what I got:
Tarte emphasEyes Aqua Gel Eyeliner in Navy (full size)
Mally Volumizing Mascara (full size)
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum (0.5 oz)
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate (0.5 oz)
Philosophy Field of Flowers – shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath (1 oz)
Nick Chavez Yucca Root Shampooing Cream (2 oz)
Calista Tools Achieve 10 Hair Styling Cream (2 oz)
Philosophy Field of Flowers Body lotion (1 oz)
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Skin Cream (2 oz)
New Beauty Magazine
First off, the two full size products are amazing! I’m a huge Tarte fan and I’ve been wanting to try the emphasEyes Aqua Gel eyeliners. They’re supposed to be long wearing like gel eyeliners and the navy color is beautiful! It’s a dark navy color with tint bright blue sparkles. I can’t wait to test it out and write a full review about it.

Mally volumizing mascara is awesome! I already own a tube and love it. It gives nice volume and amazing length. Yeah for me, now I have a backup tube!

I am also currently using the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. I bought it sometime before Christmas to replace my empty bottle of Origins Plantscription serum. So far I like it. It has a gel like consistency that smooths out nicely and smells like citrus.
I’m super excited to try the ExfoliKate. I’ve been tempted to buy this before but wasn’t sure how my sensitive skin would react to it. Not too crazy about the medicinal scent though.

As for the rest of the items, they all smell really nice and I’m excited to try them out. The Philosophy Field of Flowers is surprisingly not overwhelming. I expected a strong floral scent but it’s actually soft and light.

So what do you think? In your opinion, is the New Beauty Test Tube worth purchasing? It is still available to purchase on QVC.com.
