The new Milani Fierce Foil Eyeliners ($7.99) are available in 4 different colors; a brown, black, purple and a navy. To be honest, they didn’t look very “foiled” in the packaging but I thought I’d give it a go anyway.
I use brown eyeliners almost daily instead of black so I naturally picked up the color called Brown Foil. In the packaging it looks just like any average brown powder liner might.
Each eyeliner color comes with a small liner brush that works pretty well for application. The eyeliner comes in a plastic compact with a twist off lid.
These liners are not necessarily a powder or a gel. They have a powdery appearance but with a slightly “wet” texture.
The brown color is nicely pigmented with a bit of shimmer in it. But I am disappointed by the lack of “foiled” look it has. On my eyelids it looks just like any other brown eyeliner gel.
Milani claims that these are long wearing as well which I don’t find to be true. Even after letting it set for a few minutes, it will smudge if you touch it or rub your eyes. And throughout the day I get some smearing and running with my oily eyelids, even with a primer.
Overall I just don’t see anything special about the Fierce Foil eyeliners. This is not one of those must have new products that you have to run out and find. But if you don’t have oily eyelids and you need a pigmented liner then by all means give it a whirl.
