The Lancome Juicy Shaker ($21) line is a collection of pigment infused bi-phase lip oils. What does that mean exactly? The first phase consists of a transparent lip oil while the second phase contains the pigment for a bit of lip color.
Naturally the two phases separate as they sit undisturbed. Simply shake the Juicy Shaker as you would your favorite cocktail shaker. The two phases mix together and you end up with a creamier version of the pigment color.
The Lancome Juicy Shakers come in a range of 20 different colors. I just bought one to try first, Freedom of Peach, a pastel peach color.
The cocktail blend of 4 nourishing oils treats your lips like a lip balm. Peach kernel oil; a well-known emollient softens lips while Sweet Almond oil conditions and Cranberry oil provides rich anti-oxidant properties. Muscat Rose oil is rich in essential fatty acids and helps to soothe lips.
The applicator is cute and compact. It’s a soft sponge that holds a good bit of product. You simply bounce the sponge across your lips to apply the lip oil.
I love the light, thin texture of this lip oil. It’s not thick or sticky, nor is it greasy feeling. Freedom of Peach gives my lips a light wash of sheer peach color with a nice glossy finish.
These Juicy Shakers are not meant to give your lips crazy pigmentation or coverage so don’t be disappointed with the sheer wash of color they give your lips. But I think something light and moisturizing is perfect for the upcoming hot and sunny summer weather.
The formula makes my lips feel so soft and smooth. I was having a bout of dry lips and this seems to have helped clear that up since I started wearing it almost daily.
I happen to be in love with my Juicy Shaker. I think the packaging is adorable and Freedom of Peach actually smells a bit like peaches too! I will be buying another color on my next trip to Ulta.
