The Holiday 2014 collections are out in full force! One that I felt I “had to” splurge on is this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette ($58).
These beautiful blushers came out around the beginning of the year but they were so pricey individually so I kept passing them by. Last holiday season they came out with their Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette so I was hoping that a blush palette like this was in the works.
As you can see this sucker is gorgeous! It includes 3 different shades of their popular Ambient Lighting Blush. What makes these blushers special is that they are formulated to not only give your cheeks color but also add subtle types of “lighting” to your cheeks.
Here’s what you get:
- Luminous Flush – champagne rose with a candlelit glow
- Incandescent Electra (limited edition) – cool peach with a celestial glow
- Mood Exposure – soft plum that brightens the complexion
For my fair skin, all three of these colors are plenty pigmented. They all show up very well on my cheeks while giving me a beautiful glow. The glow does not emphasize my pores but instead, blurs them a bit.
If you’re expecting bold, bright colors, these are not that. For those with darker skin tones than fair and light, these blushes may not show up as well on your skin. You can build the shades up a bit for extra pigmentation without them looking cakey.
I love the silky smooth texture that these have and the colors are quite pretty. However, I don’t find them to be that unique. I probably have other blushes in my collection that are quite similar so I’m not sure if it’s a “must have” palette.
What do you think of this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette?
