Another new trend for Spring 2012 is mousse foundation. Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup ($12.99) comes in a metal can. You shake the can, like you would do with hair mousse, and dispense onto the back of your hand. But be sure to press down gently, it’s easy to get way too much product out. You only need a dollop of mousse foundation about the size of a quarter.
When the Revlon Mousse foundation comes out, you’ll immediately notice it start to get bubbles and pop. Once you begin to touch the mousse, it deflates into a puddle of thin foundation. You can then apply it with your fingertips or a brush.
At first you’ll notice that it doesn’t appear thick and creamy like normal liquid foundation, it’s a little on the runny side. And it applies to the skin as fairly light coverage but you could build it up a bit if needed. I did like how light this Revlon Mousse foundation felt on my face, it doesn’t feel heavy or cakey at all. And that’s where my “likes” end with this product.
Unfortunately I did not like the finish that it left on my skin. Revlon refers to it as “photochromatic pigments that bend and reflect light” but it appears as straight up glittery specks. They’re not quite noticeable indoors but in bright light or outdoor sun, they’re very noticeable.
As for the coverage, I wasn’t impressed with how little it actually covers. Since it’s so watery and thin, it doesn’t cover flaws or redness completely like most regular liquid foundations do. But worse than that, it actually settles into fine lines and pores while the glitter accentuates ever flaw. Not good!
Final Thoughts:
Unless you have zero flaws and want sheer foundation coverage, stay away from the Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup. But by all means, if you want to look glittery then go ahead and give it a try. I was really excited about this product and really wanted to like it but unfortunately I will be returning mine for a refund.

the Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush made my skin look stunning, but it smells bad and I (not allergic to anything) developed a terrible reaction including redness, itchiness, localized on the face, so be carefull, the product is very strong.
Yikes, you’re the first person I’ve heard of that had an allergic reaction to an ingredient in it. My skin is very sensitive to anything that contains Bismuth Oxychloride. I returned my Revlon PhotoReady mousse so I’m not sure if it contains that or not.
I, too, had an allergic reaction…and noticed the odd finish/settling into teeeeeeny little lines. So glad I did a color test on my arm before trying it on my face. Hoping my local store will take it back. Really wanted to like it, but for me, anyway, awful stuff.

I just got mine a few days ago, and I love it, but it smells so bad that I can’t stand to have it on my face. It almost smells rancid. It’s awful. :/
