Over the past few months I’ve found myself drinking way to much coffee. I work from home so it’s easy for me to just keep going to the kitchen for another cup of joe. Although I don’t even drink a full pot, I find myself shying away from plain old water. I may have a glass with dinner but then I turn to hot tea in the evening.
Now some of you may think, heck that’s not that bad. But to me it is. I can’t help but think that all that caffeine is not good for me. Basically I’m having some sort of caffeine almost all day long.
So during the past two weeks, I’ve made an effort to lay off the coffee and only have a few cups of tea a day. Tea has a lot of antioxidant benefits so that’s a good step up from coffee.
Nutritioulicious is a healthy eating blog written by registered dietitian Jessica Levinson. Her husband, Andrew, was a guest blogger on the other site I write for, SMBCEO.com and he pointed me in the direction of Jessica’s blog.
I visited a few months ago and found a lot of really great information. I especially enjoy her Wednesday Wonders where she thoroughly answers a readers question. I bookmarked the site with every intention of writing about the site shortly after I first visited. Well, you know how that goes. Time just gets away from you.
When I revisited the site today I came across her informative post about the benefits of drinking tea.
Tea is a calorie-free, fat-free beverage choice that also has a lot of health benefits. I’m sure you have heard a lot about green tea over the past few years, but there are many different types of tea that are good for you, namely black, white, and oolong tea. The leaves of these four teas have antioxidant-filled polyphenols — natural substances found in fruits and vegetables. The polyphenols in these teas are flavonoids called catechins.
Jessica’s blog is one of the most informative healthy eating blogs I’ve visited. The topics covered are full of everyday knowledge for the average person. I lot of health food blogs get too technical and scientific. Jessica gives the information out in a way that just about anyone can follow and understand.
