Banana Cream Cake and Brown Butter Icing Recipe

I recently tried out a recipe that I found on the recipe blog Amanda’s Cookin’. It’s a luscious Banana Cream Cake. And it was oh so good! I love banana nut bread and this was a close comparison. It tastes a lot like banana bread but the icing gives it some kick. Overall, it’s a nice and easy cake recipe for a crowd satisfying cake.

The method for making the brown butter icing was something I’d never tried before. The recipe requires browning the butter stove top before adding it to the other ingredients. I was a little nervous that I would burn the butter but the process went smoothly. I made my icing a little thicker that hers. She used it as a glaze over the entire cake, I used my thicker version as more of an icing on top. The taste I’m sure is the same.
