My Favorite Silicone Candle And Wax Tart Molds

silicone-candle-moldsOne of my favorite things about making candles is the ability to use your creativity.  One of the things that makes my candles stand out is the way I use shaped wax embeds.  If you are not familiar with embeds, they are small wax pieces made by pouring wax into the shape of candies, cookies and other cute goodies.  To shape the embeds, I use silicone molds.

Silicone molds are my favorite type of candle wax mold.  Metal and plastic molds are ok to use but you need to let the wax cure for a long time before demolding.  With silicone molds, you can often demold after only a few minutes.  They work great for pillars, embeds, tart melts and soaps.  I most often use them for making tarts.  I really enjoy making my tart melts in cute little shapes and they sell much better than the traditional scalloped version.

I regularly order my molds from Ginger at flexiblemolds.com.  She offers so many choices and the silicone is extremely durable.  With other silicone mold makers, you can easily pay about three times as much for a mold.  Ginger’s molds are very reasonably priced and she is really quick to ship out orders.  If you are looking for different, unique ways to customize your candles; head over to Flexible Molds.
