Over the last few months scented aroma oil reed diffusers have become the latest trend. They have exploded all over the marketplace, from large company brands to small hand made blends. The marketing is mostly centered around the fact that they are soot free and flame free. Good for nursing rooms, offices, dorm rooms, etc. Anywhere you are worried about an open flame.
I was curious as to how well they worked. The concept is that the wooden reeds absorb the scented oil and give off the scent into the air. I was skeptical but I wanted to give it a try.
I purchased my set at TJ Maxx for $7.99. The oil is scented in Fresh Linen and I have it in my bathroom which is not an extremely large room. Within a few hours of putting the reeds in the oil, I noticed that the reeds were soaking up the oil. I was surprised to see how fast it was working.
The next morning, the reeds where soaked the whole way thru and I could smell it! And it is pretty strong, yeah! And no, I don’t have to stick my nose on it to actually smell it. It has been a week now since I started using it and the oil level hasn’t moved. I’m hoping to get a month or more out of it. I have been pleasantly surprised and I will probably pick another one up on my next trip to TJ Maxx.
