cupcake recipesIn my quest to bring you the most awesome recipe blogs on the web, I have come across numerous cool and unique cupcake recipes.  Some of these cupcake recipes caught my eye because they are crazy unique.

Most people think cupcakes have to be boring, mini versions of a traditional cake recipe.  These cupcake recipes will make you think otherwise.

So, I thought I would share these one of a kind cupcake recipes with my readers.  I hope you enjoy these 10 highly unique cupcake recipes.

Banana Nut Cupcakes with Maple FrostingAlan’s Kitchen has this wonderfully simple recipe listed that consists of a few ingredients with a Banana Bread mix as the foundation.

Creamsicle CupcakesWoman’s Day offers up this cupcake recipe that has a touch of sweet oranges in the batter and frosting.  These would be a great way to welcome spring.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes – A perfect for fall recipe of spiced apple cupcakes with a decadent caramel frosting from justjennrecipes.com.

Zucchini Ginger CupcakesEpicurious has this interesting recipe that resembles a lightly spiced carrot cake also with a cream cheese frosting.

Chunky Monkey CupcakesRecipeZaar shares this icing-less cupcake recipe loaded with mashed bananas and chocolate chips with the tops sprinkled with cinnamon, brown sugar and walnuts.  Sounds intriguing doesn’t it?!

Lemon Cupcakes with Fresh Strawberry Centers – Rachel Rappaport of Coconut & Lime has this luscious lemon cupcake recipe that has a sweet surprise inside, a whole strawberry!

Spiced Chai Latte Cupcakes -  This unique cupcake recipe comes from Love and Olive Oil.  The list of interesting ingredients make this a must try.

Mojito Cupcakes – Ivonne, of Cream Puffs In Venice, has this scrumptious looking cupcake recipe that looks to die for.  The cupcakes are topped with a lime and rum frosting.  The recipe is a little more involved but from the pics, they look well worth the effort.

Gin and Tonic Cupcakes – This simple but unique cupcake recipe is brought to you by YumSugar.  With simple cake ingredients and icing flavored with gin, you simply can’t go wrong with these.

Rootbeer Float CupcakesBitter Sweet has this cupcake recipe listed on their site.  I never would have thought you could make cupcakes flavored with rootbeer.  What a neat idea and they look delicious!

Valentine Bonus Recipe: Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting – Nicole from Pinch My Salt shares the recipe for these bright red cupcakes perfect for baking for your sweetie.  They look delish!

I have got a really awesome fat-free cupcake recipe that I made if anyone is interested. It is really moist, you would swear it has some oil in it!

Gin & Tonic cupcakes? I love G&T but I can’t imagine how it would work in cupcakes, I guess I will have to try it.
